Aladdin Print

Corallie & JillAladdin will open on Saturday 15th September for a two week season.

If you enjoyed the Shrek movies you will love the PLOC version of the Pantomime, Aladdin.  We have written the script to cover a wide range of audience ages.  Younger Audience members will enjoy the audience participation and the adults will get most of the puns innuendo and jokes.    Keep an eye on the local papers we will be having articles in them soon.

The show also has some of the traditional pantomime content such as the panto dame, Widow Twankey played by Matt Davie from Manukau.  We have an evil sorcerer Aunty Abanazar and a really cute but stroppy little camel.   The sets are coming along and with we are working on explosions for miscast spells.

If anyone would like to help backstage or Front of House while family members are performing we would love to have you there.

Jean Arscott Print
We received these nice words about Jean from Aaron Cortesi:

I was saddened to open my emails yesterday and read the news about Aunty Jean, she was so much a part of the light opera club, a great support to the all the members, had a marvellous warmth, sense of humour and an unlimited generosity. I have many fond memories of her, mostly sharing a cup of tea and a laugh, or receiving a little pearl of wisdom from someone who'd been there done that. So lots of love to her family and to those at the club who knew her well. God Bless Jean.

I am sad to report that Jean Arscott died today (29 Feb 07) after a long illness.

Jean was a Life Member, and was a long serving member of our club for many years, turning her talents to Wardrobe, Front of House and making sure that everyone at the working ‘B’s’ had a good home-made lunch and that was EVERY Saturday.

Jean's Funeral was held on Saturday (3rd Feb) in Tauranga with a good turnout of Club members past and present.
