Important Club Meeting Feb 8th |

The Business Team as submitted its new Business Plan for 2012 and the PLOC committee will meet to accept or decline the Business Plan. It identifies some really important issues and proposes solutions designed to prevent the club from dissolution and to re-invigorate it to a vibrant club that provides not only entertainment but also a strong social club environment. Twelve shows are on the agenda, a face lift for the building and foyer, drama workshops from real professionals and lots more. Franklin County news is planning to run a specific regular article on performing arts and is very supportive of what is in the club’s plans. There is very strong feeling that the club needs a new name and the committee is contemplating names that will more appropriately describe the rebranded club.
At the meeting you will have the opportunity to meet the people who are making the changes and talk through first hand all the exciting things that are being proposed and also it is a real opportunity for members and those interested to get to know everyone and to, once again, become involved in a wonderful club.
SO PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT.
COME TO THE MEETING.

The Business Team comprises John Knappett as Team Manager, Murray Green, Glenda Hagenson and Andrew King. John and Murray have been seconded onto the Committee for the purpose of implementing the plan.

It is with fond sadness that we say Good bye to Lydia Peacock, founder of our Club. Without Lydia’s foresight we may never have had a Theatre, and for that we are eternally grateful.
Lydia passed away on 2nd June 2011, at 93 years of age, after living a life full of hard work, laughter and music.
Musical shows and Music Halls were her speciality, and she will be long remembered with great love by members of the Pukekohe Light Opera Club. |
