30 October 2009 Long time member, and Life Member, Bill Chessum has had a fall and broken his hip (on his stroke side). He is in Middlemore Hospital, but will soon to be transferred to a rehabilitation ward. Fortunately the break was clean and is mending nicely and we send him best wishes for a speedy recovery. From Annette: Bill has been moved down to Rehab Ward 23 Room G where he was 41/2 yrs ago following the stroke, where he will be for about a fortnight. Such a pity as he has been doing so well this year. We will do our best to have him around again very soon, but unfortunately we'll have to miss some things we were looking forward to.
